VIDEO CONFERENCING FAQs

Thank you for your cooperation as we navigate best practices recommended by our local authorities and require that all face-to-face Spring 1 classes be held remotely, via BlueJeans video conferencing.  Online courses remain the same. Campus operations staff will do intermittent monitoring of virtual classes and will be actively monitoring our helpdesk@lfgsm.edu account for other general questions.


REMOTE COURSE BEST PRACTICES FOR LFGSM SPRING 1 STUDENTS
 

Download the BlueJeans App to whatever device you'll use to attend class for a better connection.

If using a browser, consider using Chrome for the best results.

Make an effort to actively participate and speak in class.

Use a headset, microphone and high quality camera for the best student experience.

Do not schedule face to face team meetings. Use BlueJeans, Google Hangouts or other virtual meeting platforms if teamwork is required.


FAQs FOR LFGSM SPRING 1 STUDENTS
 

  • Who do I call if I can't log into BlueJeans?

If you have trouble logging in on the night of class, contact ONTIME TECH SUPPORT at 847-574-5175. This temporary line will be answered by our staff during the Spring 1 term. 
 

  • What if I have non-urgent technical issues?

If you have technical issues that don’t require an immediate response, please contact helpdesk@lfgsm.edu  Campus Operations staff will be frequently monitoring the inbox.
 

  • Isn't there a policy restricting the number of videoconference sessions per course ?

Attendance policy restricting video conference sessions per course will be suspended during the Spring 1 term.
 

  • When will remote classes meet?

All classes meet via BlueJeans at their scheduled time. Please login to BlueJeans at least 10 minutes prior to start time. 
 

  • How long will LFGSM remain Virtual Classroom Only?

At this time, we will remain virtual for the remainder of the Spring 1 term.
